Hardly a "hidden gem" since its ranking as a top 5 in 2005 Golf Week's "America's Best Daily Fee Facilities." As recently as 2018, Golf Digest awarded Breakfast Hill four stars as one of their "Best Places to Play" while still being recognized as a top public course by Golf Magazine and Golf.com. It is an incredible layout that offers variety and excellent conditions for muni and public golfers alike. Brian Silva lays out Breakfast Hill over 170 acres of farmland. There is also a superb practice facility that can help golfers hone their precision and enhance it before or after a golf round. The 18-hole track experience is second to none in the Seacoast of New Hampshire.

There is a bit hidden from the golfer's view from the tee boxes, such as penalty areas and bunkers. Golfers will play these holes with a need to know basis. It will be hard to score well here without knowing where these penalty areas, drop-offs, and bunkering are on the golf course. However, wherever they find themselves, they will discover excellent conditions, plenty of variety, and impressive natural-looking aesthetics.

The fairways range from narrow to medium width. While the tree line fairways do not offer much assistance in keeping miss-hit shots in play. There is plenty of bunkering here to divert the golfers' attention away from the sides of the holes and focused. The greens play a significant supporting role when adding difficulty to a seeming innocuous golf hole. When the main focus on some golf holes seems to be as simple as hit the fairway then hit the green, the position on the green to the flag is increased exponentially. The greens are designed as half bowls with severe ledges, some have pinched openings, and there are shallow greens for golfers to hit.

It is a well-marked course with plenty of places to lose a ball or go out of bounds. Keeping the ball off the sides of the golf course is crucial. There are a few forced carries that will have golfers receiving both the stroke and distance penalty. To score well here, players will need to keep the ball in play and in front of them. They will rarely hit the same shot at Breakfast Hill. The holes are all so unique from each other. They do well to make golfers be creative and hit different shot shapes with various clubs.

It's a lovely walk through the woods of New Hampshire. Holes are laid out well for both walkers and those that like to ride in carts. The championship conditions will have golfers feeling like they are competing at a golf course with an elite tournament setup, so golfers will not mind paying these rates to play here.

The rate climbs up to $63 on the weekends until noon, where the rate drops significantly back to below weekday rates. At $63, golfers receive a decent deal. When the price drops, it is definitely one of the best deals in the area, and it all starts around noon, which is much earlier than most twilight rates.

As golfers, we will always remember the conditions of the golf course, how well the putts rolled and how tight the fairways were. Brian Silva's use of the natural beauty land on this course trumps all of that. The natural rock outcroppings that are subtle and understated will leave a lasting impression long after completing the round.

Conditions: Offers championship conditions for all levels of golfers.

Difficulty: The difficulty lies in the variety of shots golfers will have to hit.

Practice Green: There is a 10,000 square foot practice green that rolls well and plays similarly to the golf course's greens.

Value: It feels like a bargain at peak hours, and it feels like a deep discount later in the day.

Range: There is a full grass range that allows for hitting all up clubs up to hybrid.

Wear a hard hat: The thick woods that line the fairways provide enough separation without worrying about miss-hit shots flyover from other golf holes.
