Brookmeadow Country Club is a dream come true, an incantation from a man who had built most everything before. It was a challenge to its creator. Envisioned on land unsuitable for homes, Frank Simoni said, "I'd built sewer lines, home developments, shopping centers, and whatnot, and I wanted to see if I could build a golf course from scratch." From that, Brookmeadow Country Club's first nine holes were born. Later, after some success, he created the second nine holes making Brookmeadow an 18 hole course. He is also credited for The Country Club of Norwood.

Brookmeadow Country Club is a straightforward course. There are no tricks to playing this course. It is a mostly flat course, so the bunkering around the course is flat and may add to the difficulty if you have not played here before. There are some water and lateral hazards on the golf course, but for the most part, the course design makes it easy to recover from wayward shots as most of the holes feel spacious. Not a lot of uniqueness to this course, but plenty of variety as most of the holes have a different feel and look to keep the golfer interested throughout the round.

Brookmeadow is an easy walk with little elevation change. The course is flat from tee to green and between holes, so there is no need to take a cart if you are playing 18 holes. Tee to green, the conditions are some of the best I have experienced this past at this price point. I was wowed at how nice they were rolling and how the ball was reacting on pitches and chips, which allows for lower scoring here. There is not much resistance to scoring here too.

This course offers considerable value due to the combination of cost, tee time availability, and conditions. The course will be remembered for the enjoyment of playing golf here. There is not one hole that has a wow factor, but the overall golf experience here is notable.

Conditions: From the tees to the greens, the course looked and played like a $100+ course. Difficulty: The course is straight forward and relatively easy for shooting lower scores. Practice Green: There is a practice green that is conveniently located next to the first tee. So make sure to wait there until before your tee time. Value: Superb value. Range: There is a full range and also a member's driving range with grass. The range for the public only has mats to hit off. Wear a hard-hat: The course is well spread out. There is no need to wear one here. Instead of chain-link fence or netting between holes to block poorly hit shots, the course utilizes trees and wet areas quite well.
